Music-school mosaic, Briceni
A Soviet mosaic on the gable end (blind wall) of the music school in the town of Briceni, a two-storey building with a blue roof. The panel has a musical theme: a stylized muse with a yellow-green face, a piano keyboard, a treble clef on a staff, a lyre, organ pipes and brass instruments, two young singers, and an open book at the base, accompanied by a songbird. The palette is warm — yellow, ochre and orange with turquoise accents — over a finely tessellated ground, tying music to learning. The author and year are undocumented; the address recorded in the photographs' metadata is str. Aptekarskaya (Аптекарская) no. 2.
