About Us
Across Moldova — on bus stops and railway stations, the walls of houses of culture, schools and factories — are hundreds of Soviet-era mosaics. Many are unsigned, undocumented, and quietly disappearing as the buildings that carry them are renovated or demolished.
Explore is a growing archive of these works. Each entry records where a mosaic is, what is known about it, and the sources we consulted — so the ones already lost live on as a record, and the ones still standing are easier to find and protect.
You can browse the archive by theme or on the map. Visit a mosaic in person, check in, and you earn a stamp for it — a small collection of the places you've stood in front of. Spotted one that isn't here, or know more about a listing? Send it in — the archive is built from contributions.
