A Soviet-era mosaic on a monumental sculpture in Congazcicul de Jos (Gagauz Kongazçık Aşaakı, Russian Нижний Конгазчик), a small village in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia, part of the Congazcicul de Sus commune in the Comrat district. The village was founded in 1905 by settlers from Congaz (Congazcicul de Sus followed in 1921) and has about 226 inhabitants (2024), mostly Gagauz. The „Mosaics of Moldova” (Buretz) inventory records here a work unlike the usual building façades: a mosaic laid over a monumental sculpture, with unprotected status, photographed by Iurii Panasenco. In Soviet villages such monumental ensembles were most often memorials to fellow villagers fallen in the 1941–1945 war, sometimes clad in smalt or ceramic mosaic — but the exact subject of the Congazcicul de Jos monument is not confirmed. Neither the theme, the author, nor the year is documented in any accessible source, including the Gagauz-language and Russian local sources that were checked, and no openly-licensed photograph of the work exists, so its imagery cannot be described from a verified source.
