Kindergarten mosaic, Ișcalău
A Soviet-era mosaic on the facade of the building that housed the kindergarten and the milk-collection point in Ișcalău, a commune in Fălești district, northern Moldova. In the Moldavian SSR such panels brightened ordinary rural public buildings — kindergartens, shops, milk-collection points, bus shelters — relieving standardised architecture. The „Mosaics of Moldova” inventory credits the work to Ghenadie Micleușanu, named only in that catalogue; he is also credited with the mosaic on the village shop, so Ișcalău preserves at least two works by the same hand. The year is unknown and the subject is not documented — the only images are the inventory photographs taken by Anatolie Ciobanu, which carry no reproduction licence.
