Seven mosaic panels adorn the facade of kindergarten no. 14 „Spicușor” on Fiodor Seliviorstov Street 2 in Cahul, a town in southern Moldova. The building was put into service in 1990, and the mosaics were conceived — according to the local outlet „Ziua de Azi” — to give the institution its own identity: each panel depicts a hero from Moldovan folk tales, rendered with firm outlines, stylised silhouettes and bright colours. The author is unknown. Over time not all the panels have survived intact, and a public-procurement notice for thermal insulation of the kindergarten's facade puts the mosaics at further risk — so the work's status is treated as „at risk”. The ensemble is listed in the local Register of public monuments (category B), by Cahul Town Council Decision no. 03/07-V of 17 September 2020. No openly-licensed photograph of the panels exists, so their subject rests on the local documentary source, not on a verified image.
