House-of-Services mosaic, Briceni
The entire facade of the former House of Services (Casa de Servicii / Дом быта, a consumer-services bureau) in Briceni, at str. Prieteniei 4, is clad in an ornamental ceramic mosaic: round glazed studs form Moldovan folk-embroidery patterns — green-and-white panels around the windows, a frieze of stylized tulips beneath the cornice, vertical floral garlands at the corners and flower roundels scattered across the field. Unlike a figurative smalt panel, this is applied decoration, a ceramic „carpet” covering the whole wall — a treatment typical of late-Soviet Дом быта buildings. The ground floor now houses a bank and several shops, and part of the premises is up for sale. The author and year are undocumented.
