Palace-of-Culture mosaic, Gura Galbenei
Two mosaic panels on the facade of the Palace of Culture in Gura Galbenei, a commune seat in the Cimișlia district, on the Cogâlnic river between Bozieni (to the north) and Hârtop (to the south). The building is a single-storey Soviet house of culture in pale-yellow masonry, with a central columned portico flanked by two wings that carry the mosaics. The right-hand risalit panel shows elongated figures of dancers and young people on a prismatic field shattered into geometric shards of blue, yellow, red and violet — a dynamic, almost crystalline composition. The left end-wall panel is warmer, dominated by red and yellow, with a sequence of labour and folk scenes. Unlike the village's bus shelter (the only Gura Galbenei work entered in the Buretz „Mosaics of Moldova” inventory), these panels remain un-inventoried; their artist and year are undocumented. The work survives in situ and was photographed in September 2025.
