House-of-Culture mosaic, Boșcana
A mosaic on the facade of the House of Culture in Boșcana (locally also the “Palace of Culture,” today the Centre of Culture and Youth), the seat of the commune in Criuleni district, about 20 km east of Chișinău. The panels on the building's left wing are figurative: peasant figures in folk dress — women in white headscarves and aprons — carrying baskets against a dark ground strewn with stylised golden discs (an orchard-and-abundance motif), framed by geometric borders in turquoise and white (zigzags and folk-inspired ornamental friezes). Like most rural Soviet houses of culture, the work has no documented author or year; it is listed in the Mosaics of Moldova inventory as unprotected. The mosaic survives in situ.
