Bus-shelter mosaic, Mălăieștii Noi
A Soviet roadside bus-shelter mosaic in the village of Mălăieștii Noi (Bălăbănești commune), Criuleni district. The village is a young one — founded only in 1979 for families left without building plots in Bălăbănești and for those resettled from landslide-prone Mălăiești — so the panel belongs to the settlement's final Soviet decade, the 1980s. The shelter is one of Moldova's „mosaic bus stops,” raised by local craftsmen along the roads of Soviet Moldavia as a kind of gateway from the village to the wider world. The „Mosaics of Moldova” inventory lists it as surviving but records neither author nor year; the only documentary image is the inventory photograph (Anetta Dabija), which cannot be viewed freely, so the panel's exact subject remains undescribed from any verifiable source.
