Bus-shelter mosaic, Bucovăț
A concrete, cantilever-roofed bus shelter on the roadside in Bucovăț — the smallest town in Moldova (Strășeni district, about 26 km from Chișinău) — right next to the village's railway station. The interior walls (the rear and both sides) and the outer end wall facing the road are entirely clad in smalt mosaic: a dense field of stylized flowers, rosettes and leaves with scattered motifs, in warm ochre, brick-red and terracotta with blue and white accents. A blue enamel plate on the eave carries the village name, “BUCOVĂȚ”. The panel survives, though it bears traces of recent graffiti. As with almost every rural mosaic shelter in Moldova, neither the author nor the year is recorded by any source — the craftspeople of these roadside works generally remained anonymous.
